Job Opportunity: Infusion Registered Nurse
Location: Novato, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking a Registered Nurse for the Infusion/Chemotherapy department to support program growth and expansion.
Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
Hours per week: 36
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in California
- Minimum of 1 year of infusion experience, including infusion experience within the last year
- One completed travel nursing assignment
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year background check required within 6 months of start, including SSN trace with all aliases, county searches, nationwide sex offender search, education verification, and international search if applicable
- FACIS Level 3 screening required within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter (or equivalent checks if FACIS III cannot be run)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required and updated annually
- Education verification required (not required if highest education is high school)
- Sex offender search must be run within 90 days of start
- Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to CA law)
- Employment application must include full 7 years of work history with no gaps
- Employment verification for up to 7 years required, with explanations for gaps over 30 days
Certifications and Competencies
- Unit-specific skills checklist required, renewed annually
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam may be required
- Additional certifications may be verified depending on position requirements (e.g., PALS, CCRN, TNCC)
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, cleared for work
- Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (with accommodations for religious exemptions or failed tests)
- TB screening questionnaire within 90 days of start, renewed annually
- Negative TB test (QGold, TSPOT, or PPD) within 90 days of start, renewed annually
- Immunizations or titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (series or declination)
- Varicella
- Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination required during flu season (Nov 1 – Apr 30)
- Color blindness exam if applicable (in-person exam only)
- Respiratory safety clearance required prior to start, renewed annually
Facility-Specific Documents and Requirements
- Candidate must review and sign facility-specific job description, standards of business conduct, code of conduct, vendor training, overpayment refund policy, and general regulatory orientation prior to start
- Conditional offer of employment attestation must be completed prior to start
- Religious accommodation forms required if applicable for facial hair or vaccine exemptions
- Photo for badge required for per diem positions
