Angiographer Position - Utah, Provo


Job Summary

  • Prepare patients for exams using proper body mechanics.
  • Verify patient identification and orders.
  • Identify appropriate exams based on patient needs and apply correct exam techniques.
  • Operate imaging equipment to produce quality images.
  • Complete all required documentation accurately, including time stamps and image storage.
  • Maintain work area and stock necessary supplies.
  • Transport patients as needed.
  • Develop knowledge of invasive, diagnostic, and interventional supplies, including their indications and proper use.
  • Assist with procedures as circulating tech, scrub tech, or monitoring tech according to lab policies and scope of practice.
  • Apply closure devices, suture, or apply pressure to obtain hemostasis at procedure end.
  • Understand and apply principles of x-ray generation and safety.
  • Provide patient education and ensure patient comfort.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Utah.
  • Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology Technologist experience within the last year.
  • ARRT certification (RT or VI) or equivalent Vascular/Interventional Radiography Certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • High School Diploma or GED.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
  • Experience with stroke, embolization, biopsy, and complex interventional radiology procedures.

Work Schedule

  • 10-hour day shifts, 4 shifts per week (40 hours/week).
  • On-call required; weekends on call only.
  • Shift times may vary.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

  • Frequent walking, standing for extended periods, and patient transfers using full range of motion.
  • Ability to lift and carry supplies and equipment, including heavy items.
  • Navigate crowded and busy rooms with equipment and power cords.
  • Manual dexterity to manipulate complex and delicate equipment precisely.
  • Frequent verbal communication and ability to quickly understand alarms and spoken information, especially in emergencies.

Additional Requirements

  • Personal radiation monitoring badge (dosimeter) required; facility may provide temporary badge if needed.
  • Encouraged to use existing badge from previous assignments to maintain continuous exposure record.

Certifications & Licenses Summary

  • Utah State Radiologic Technologist License (required).
  • ARRT (RT or VI) or equivalent vascular/interventional certification.
  • BLS (required).
  • ACLS or PALS (preferred).

This position involves critical patient care and technical skills in vascular/interventional imaging with a focus on safety, quality imaging, and procedural assistance.
