Description
NICU Registered Nurse (RN) - 13-Week Contract
Location: Kearney, Nebraska
Shift: Days
Hours: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
Job Overview
- Provide nursing care in a Level 2 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio.
- Must be able to independently attend deliveries and catch babies.
- Responsible for care of stable postpartum mothers and couplet care (mother/baby).
- Flexible scheduling with multiple weekends required.
- May float to mother/baby unit; up to 2 additional shifts every 6 weeks.
- Holiday coverage may be required, typically May-Sept and Nov-Jan.
- On-call standby may be required during low census periods, with response time within 30 minutes.
Required Qualifications
- Current Nebraska RN license or compact RN license.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from AHA or ARC.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification from AHA or ARC.
- Experience working in a Level 2 NICU is ideal.
- Ability to work independently and confidently in a fast-paced environment.
