Description
Cath Lab Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract
Location: Fredericksburg, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Overview
- Work schedule: Four 10-hour day shifts per week (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM or 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM)
- Rotating on-call hours for after-hours, weekends, and holidays coverage
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
- Patient ratio: 1:6
- High-volume, high-acuity Cardiac Cath Lab with 3 newly renovated labs
- Approximately 12-18 cases per day, including STEMI call cases
- Procedures include TAVRs, Watchman, Cardiomems, Carotids, Impella, CTO, Peripherals, TEVARS/EVARS, STEMI
- Use of Philips rooms, Medrad and manifold injection systems, XPER and EPIC documentation
- Team-oriented environment with medical and ED float assignments within scope
- Scrubs provided
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia
- Minimum 1 year of recent Cardiac Cath Lab experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Additional Requirements & Information
- Background checks including lifetime criminal, education verification, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG required
- Facility-specific documents must be signed prior to start, including confidentiality, code of conduct, orientation packet, and Epic experience screening form
- Completion of mandatory WorkRamp orientation modules and exams prior to start (approximately 8 hours total)
- Employment application and work history verification (2 years) required
- Floating to medical and emergency department assignments as needed
- First-time travel nurses accepted
- Locals accepted
- Block scheduling accommodations at manager’s discretion
Notes
- On-call is required but not every shift; coverage includes weekends and holidays
- The facility uses specific documentation and verification processes; compliance with all credentialing and onboarding steps is mandatory
- High acuity environment requiring strong cardiac nursing skills and ability to manage multiple complex cases daily
