Job Opportunity: Occupational Therapist - Acute Care

- Day shift, Sunday through Thursday
- 5 shifts per week, 8 hours per shift (8:00 AM to 4:30 PM)
Job Description
- Provide inpatient acute rehabilitation occupational therapy
- Work with a complex patient population including:
- Cerebrovascular accident (CVA)
- Brain injury
- Spinal cord injury (SCI)
- Cancer rehabilitation
- Complex orthopedic cases
- Join a large interdisciplinary team
Required Qualifications
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in California
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year background check including SSN trace with all aliases, county searches, nationwide sex offender search, education verification, and motor vehicle report if applicable
- FACIS Level 3 screening required within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required and updated annually
- Education verification of highest level achieved (not required if highest education is high school)
- Official transcripts/diplomas may be required if verification attempts are unsuccessful
- TB screening questionnaire and negative TB test or chest x-ray required annually
- Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids per CA law)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit test for masks within 1 year of start, renewed annually (PAPR training if fit test failed)
- Immunizations required or proof of immunity for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (series or declination)
- Varicella
- Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Nov 1 - Apr 30)
- Respiratory safety clearance required annually
Documentation and Orientation
- Must review and sign facility-specific documents prior to start, including:
- Job description
- Standards of business conduct
- Confidentiality agreements
- Report of abuse
- HIPAA agreement
- Orientation booklet and post-test
- Various competency attestations specific to occupational therapy and patient populations served
- Complete vendor training and code of conduct for the contract year
Employment History and References
- Full 7 years of work history required on application with no gaps
- Employment verification for up to 7 years required; gaps over 30 days must be explained
- Two professional references required within 3 years for clinical positions
