Description
Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU Travel Position
Location: Denver, Colorado
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36
Unit Information
- ICU unit with 21 beds and 45 staff members
- Day shift: 1 Charge Nurse (no patient assignment), 6-8 nurses
- Night shift: similar staffing as day shift
- Nurse-to-patient ratio:
- Standard ICU: 2:1
- Step-down patients: 3:1
- Very high acuity: 1:1
- Equipment used: Hospira IV pumps
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system: Meditech
- Intensivist coverage 24/7
- Small community hospital setting with mostly elective patients
- Magnet designated facility
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Colorado
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
- Experience in an Acute Care setting
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
Preferred Qualifications
- Cardiac experience
- Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) experience
Typical Procedures Performed
- Intubation and central line insertion
- Bronchoscopy and endoscopy
- Vasopressor IV drip titration
- Ventilator management
- Care of sepsis, arrhythmias, and medical/surgical critical care patients
Work Schedule & Additional Requirements
- Required to work every 3rd weekend
- Required to work one major winter holiday
- Self-scheduling environment
- May float to Telemetry unit and other nearby hospitals within the system
