Description

Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU Travel Position

Location: Denver, Colorado
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36

Unit Information

ICU unit with 21 beds and 45 staff members
Day shift: 1 Charge Nurse (no patient assignment), 6-8 nurses
Night shift: similar staffing as day shift
Nurse-to-patient ratio:
- Standard ICU: 2:1
- Step-down patients: 3:1
- Very high acuity: 1:1
Equipment used: Hospira IV pumps
Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system: Meditech
Intensivist coverage 24/7
Small community hospital setting with mostly elective patients
Magnet designated facility

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Colorado
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
Experience in an Acute Care setting
Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

Preferred Qualifications

Cardiac experience
Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) experience

Typical Procedures Performed

Intubation and central line insertion
Bronchoscopy and endoscopy
Vasopressor IV drip titration
Ventilator management
Care of sepsis, arrhythmias, and medical/surgical critical care patients

Work Schedule & Additional Requirements

Required to work every 3rd weekend
Required to work one major winter holiday
Self-scheduling environment
May float to Telemetry unit and other nearby hospitals within the system
