Description

Registered Nurse (RN) – Behavioral Health (Evenings)

Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan
Employment Type: Temporary
Shift: Evenings (8 hours per day)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

  • Provide nursing care based on the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and physicians to develop and adjust individualized care plans.
  • Provide direction and oversight to licensed and non-licensed staff.
  • Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in various clinical settings with diverse populations.
  • Educate patients’ families and support discharge and aftercare planning.
  • Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff in individual and group settings.
  • Document and report all necessary patient information according to policies.
  • Monitor and report any potential safety risks to physicians.
  • Function as a clinical leader by delegating and coordinating staff assignments and promoting staff development.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and resource management.
  • May be responsible for training direct care staff, medication oversight, scheduling, staffing, and obtaining pre-authorizations.
  • Uphold professional image and organizational values including integrity, stewardship, empowerment, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Provide spiritual, emotional, social, mental, and physical support to patients.
  • Support and promote a recovery-focused, person-centered approach in community residential settings.
  • May function as a charge nurse.
  • Maintain annual training and demonstrate competency in required programmatic training.

Required Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Michigan.
  • Minimum 2 years of behavioral health nursing experience.
  • Pediatric experience required.
  • Demonstrated excellent customer service skills and enthusiasm for behavioral health programs.

Additional Information

  • Opportunity to work up to 40 hours per week with potential for additional shifts (up to 48 hours), though extra shifts are not guaranteed.
