Description
Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU
Location: Salt Lake City, Utah
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 8 weeks
Shift: Nights (Straight nights or 50/50 scheduling)
Hours per Week: 36
Unit Information
- ICU unit with 24 beds and 46 staff members
- Patient ratios:
- 1:2 standard
- 1:3 for PCU boarders
- 1:1 for sitters or higher acuity patients (IABP, CRRT, open hearts)
- Unit staffing includes unit secretaries and tech availability; 1 CCT/US during day shift if >10 patients
- Documentation system: EPIC
- Floating policy: May float to PCU or serve as a sitter anywhere in the hospital inpatient units
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Utah
- Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including experience within the last year
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Education: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Typical Procedures and Skills
- Rapid Sequence Intubations
- Central line placements
- Bronchoscopy
- Intubation
- Arterial line placement
- Chest tube placement
- Experience with ventilators, vasopressors, restraint use, arterial lines, and other ICU skills
Work Environment and Culture

- Dress code: Caribbean Blue scrubs
- Weekend requirement: 3 weekend shifts within a 4-week period
- On-call duties may be required
