Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location
- Springfield, Illinois
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse – Cath Lab
- Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM)
- Average daily census: 25 patients in a 5-room unit
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Weekend requirement: 2-3 weekends per contract
- On-call: Required as needed
- Floating: May be required to float within scope to meet facility needs
- Schedule flexibility: Block schedule requests can be discussed with manager
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Illinois
- Minimum 1 year of Cardiac Cath Lab nursing experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Experience with Cerner electronic health record system
Work Environment
- Acute care hospital, Level I trauma center, Magnet designated
- Total staffed beds: 562
- Scrub color provided
- Charting system: Cerner
- Parking permit required (no cost)
Additional Requirements & Compliance
- Background checks including criminal, sex offender, and state-specific searches required within 30 days of start
- Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good physical and mental health, ability to perform job functions without restrictions
- Fit mask test required prior to start (specific mask types accepted)
- Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (annual)
- TB testing: 2-step PPD, TSPOT, or Qgold within 1 year of start; chest x-ray if positive TB test
- Competency exam required for clinical candidates
- Professional references: 2 required for clinical candidates
- Badge photo required before start date
- Code of conduct acknowledgment required within 7 days of contract signing
- Parking permit form and badge name confirmation required within 7 days of contract signing
Restrictions & Notes
- Return to office (RTO) restrictions ideally no more than 5 days
- Client may cancel up to 36 hours of shifts per 13-week assignment without pay obligation
- Candidates must complete fingerprinting in Illinois if not holding an IL state license; cannot be done out of state
This position is suitable for first-time travel nurses.
