Cath Lab Tech - Travel/Contract
Location: Port St Lucie, Florida
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (4 shifts of 10 hours each, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
Hours per Week: 40
Job Summary
Seeking a Cath Lab Technician with experience in Cardiac Cath and at least two of the following modalities: Interventional Radiology, Vascular, or Neuro. Candidates must have this experience clearly reflected in their work history. The role requires flexibility to float within scope to meet facility needs, including floating to sister facilities within a 20-mile radius. Call is required on a case-by-case basis with no set schedule.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Florida
- Minimum 1.5 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist
- Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year
- Experience in Interventional Radiology
- Experience in Vascular technology
- American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association required
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Certified or Registered Cardiovascular Technician (RCVT) preferred.
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) also preferred.
- Florida Radiographer License and ARRT certification required if working as an Interventional Radiology Tech.
- National certification verification required within 30 days of start.
- Pending licenses are not accepted.
Work Environment & Requirements
- Must be nicotine-free; negative 10-panel drug screen including nicotine (cotinine) required.
- Facility is smoke-free with no exceptions.
- Guaranteed minimum hours: 36 hours for 12-hour shifts, 40 hours for 8- or 10-hour shifts.
- No block scheduling accommodations.
- Locals accepted at the same rate.
- Floating required to multiple hospitals within 20 miles.
- Call requirements discussed with manager; no fixed schedule.
- Time-sensitive training modules must be prioritized and completed promptly before starting.
Onboarding & Compliance Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID must be carried during hours of service.
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG required and must be current.
- Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start; Livescan fingerprinting may be necessary.
- Physical exam within 6 months of start required.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year required; annual updates necessary.
- Immunizations/vaccinations required:
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
- Varicella (2 vaccines, titer, or history of chickenpox)
- Seasonal Influenza vaccine required during flu season (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
- COVID-19 vaccination series or approved medical/religious exemption required
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year of start required; must be updated if expiring during contract.
- Two professional references within 2 years required.
- Employment application and skills checklist must be completed and updated annually.
- Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start is mandatory; modules must be completed on a computer using Google Chrome without skipping training videos.

- Call requirements are variable and discussed individually.
- Candidates must include all requested time off (RTO) upfront; additions later may not be approved.
This position is ideal for Cath Lab Technicians with strong cardiac cath and interventional radiology-related skills who are flexible and able to work in a fast-paced, multi-facility environment.
