Description
Nuclear Medicine Tech – Travel/Contract Position
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule & Work Details
- Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts (start times vary between 6:00 AM and 9:30 AM; flexibility required)
- Optional 10-hour shifts during holiday weeks
- One evening shift and one Saturday shift per month
- Approximately 33 PET/CT scans daily, including whole-body FDG, brain, cardiac, and neuroendocrine imaging
- Work involves inpatient and outpatient settings
- No on-call duties
- Federal holidays off
- Steady weekday schedule with a supportive team environment

Required Qualifications
- Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in Ohio
- Minimum of 1 year of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
- BLS certification
- ARRT or NMTCB certification
- Experience working in both inpatient and outpatient settings
Background & Compliance Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including FBI and BCI fingerprinting (Ohio-specific code 3701.881)
- Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG monitoring
- Education accreditation verification required immediately after contract signing
- High school diploma or GED verification (for Respiratory Therapy candidates if applicable)
- Employment application and skills checklist required
- Two professional references required (at least one from a manager or formal leader)
Certifications & Competencies
- BLS (AHA Instructor/Provider or RQI acceptable)
- Unit-specific competency exams required
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam (for RN/LVN candidates only)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required annually for RNs (not applicable for this role)
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgement required annually
- State license verification within 30 days of start
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within one year of start confirming good health and freedom from contagious disease
- Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSPOT) within one year or TB questionnaire in lieu of annual test
- Tdap vaccination (adult dose after age 11/12) required
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters required if low titer and no vaccine proof
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; medical exemptions require documentation
- Hepatitis B: titer or 3-vaccine series; declination acceptable
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (new travelers cannot start with pending drug screen)
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31); mask required if declining
Additional Facility-Specific Requirements
- Dress code and hand hygiene policy must be reviewed and signed
- Confidential Fraud, Waste, Abuse, and Compliance Reporting form required
- Fraud, Waste, and Abuse training certificate required prior to start and updated annually
- Background acknowledgement form required for subcontractors
- Proof of fingerprinting completion required for subcontractors (physical receipt or photo of fingerprint cards)
Notes
- Restricted return-to-office (RTO) for February and March during the contract
- Fingerprinting results must be obtained prior to start; new fingerprinting required if break in service exceeds 90 days or results are older than one year
- Candidates can renew BLS and ACLS certifications at the facility if needed
