    Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse

    Location: Tracy, California
    Employment Type: Travel/Contract
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Job Description

    • Work schedule: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts (two possible shifts: 6:45 AM–5:15 PM or 8:30 AM–7:00 PM)
    • On-call requirement: Overnight coverage on weekdays, 24-hour coverage on weekends and holidays
    • Specialty: Operating Room nursing with circulating experience
    • Clinical areas include General Surgery, Orthopedics, Spine, Urology, Robotics, OB/GYN (C-sections), Plastic Surgery
    • Experience with conscious sedation required

    Required Qualifications

    • Valid RN license in California
    • Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
    • Experience in Orthopedics, Urology, OB/GYN, and Plastic Surgery surgical specialties
    • Certifications:
      • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
      • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
      • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
      • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification
    • Education: Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

    Background and Compliance Requirements

    • 7-year background check including SSN trace with all aliases, county searches, nationwide sex offender search, education verification, and motor vehicle report if applicable
    • FACIS Level 3 screening required within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required and updated annually
    • Education verification required (Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred)
    • Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to CA law)
    • Employment application must include full 7 years of work history with no gaps
    • Employment verification for up to 7 years required, with explanations for gaps over 30 days

    Health and Immunization Requirements

    • Physical exam within 1 year of start, including clearance for work
    • Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (exceptions apply)
    • Immunizations and/or titers required:
      • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
      • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 90 days, renewed annually
      • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
      • Hepatitis B series or signed declination
      • Varicella immunity or vaccination
      • Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Nov 1–Apr 30) or signed declination
    • Drug testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids)

    Additional Certifications and Competencies

    • May require Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) and Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) depending on assignment
    • Medication/Pharmacology competency exams as applicable
    • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) and Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) training may be required or completed onsite during orientation

    Facility-Specific Requirements

    • Candidate must review and sign facility policies including Standards of Business Conduct, Code of Conduct, Vendor Training, Overpayment Refund Policy, and General Regulatory Orientation prior to start
    • TB Screening Questionnaire signed by candidate and healthcare provider within 90 days of start, renewed annually
    • Photo for badge (passport-style, color, solid background) required for per diem staff
    • Personal or auto insurance required only for driving positions
