Description

Registered Nurse (RN) - Pediatrics

Location: Bronx, New York
Employment Type: Acute Care Nursing
Contract Length: 14 weeks
Hours: Approximately 11 hours per day, 34.5 hours per week


Job Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals.
  • Provide direct bedside nursing care to pre- and post-surgery pediatric patients.
  • Prepare, administer, and document prescribed medications.
  • Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs.
  • Adjust specialized medical equipment and interpret/record measurements.
  • Monitor patient vitals and report adverse medication reactions promptly.
  • Collaborate on discharge planning with the healthcare team.
  • Educate patients and families on surgical procedures and post-operative care.
  • Maintain and update patient files, medical charts, and health records.
  • Follow best nursing practices, standards, and protocols.

Required Qualifications

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) experience, including within the last year.
  • Experience in Medical/Surgical (Med Surg) settings.
  • Experience in Rehabilitation settings.
  • Pediatrics experience.

Education

  • Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.

Licensure & Certification

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York with Primary Source Verification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
