Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech (Travel/Contract)

Location: Stafford, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking a Diagnostic Technologist with strong fluoroscopy and C-arm experience, particularly in musculoskeletal, joint, and interventional spine procedures. The role requires coverage at two locations within the region.

Work Schedule

• Shift: Day shift, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (5 days/week, 40 hours/week)
• Some Thursday or Friday afternoons off
• Daily caseload approximately 50 patients
• On-call availability preferred but not mandatory
• No floating to sister facilities or other departments

Required Qualifications

• Valid Radiology Technician license in Virginia (temporary 90-day permit allowed while license is pending)
• Minimum 1 year recent experience as Radiology/X-Ray Technician, including experience within the last year
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA provider card required
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
• Experience with:

  • Fluoroscopy and C-arm procedures, including extensive musculoskeletal fluoroscopy
  • Musculoskeletal, joint, interventional spine, spine/pelvis, lower extremities, enema studies, and surgery/C-arm procedures

Experience Requirements

• Extensive musculoskeletal fluoroscopy experience is mandatory
• Strong background in fluoroscopy and interventional spine procedures

Facility Information

• Type: Short-Term Acute Care, Trauma Level II
• Beds: 90 staffed beds
• Emergency Department: 15 beds with OR, pediatric, and ICU services
• Charting system: Epic
• Scrub color: Caribbean blue
• Parking: No cost

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year prior to start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable
• Drug screening within 30 days prior to start
• Fit mask (N95) certification, updated annually
• Immunizations or proof of immunity for:

  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (vaccination series or declination)
  • Varicella
• Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (9/1 – 3/31) or approved medical/religious exemption
• COVID-19 vaccination documentation required or declination

Background and Documentation

• Comprehensive background check including criminal, education, and driving records (if applicable)
• Verification of highest education degree
• Two professional references required (one current year, one within last 2 years) from supervisors or licensed providers who have directly supervised the candidate
• Employment application and work history verification for at least 2 years
• Skills checklist and job description acknowledgment required
• Completion of facility-specific orientation and compliance documents prior to start
• Completion of mandatory online training modules within one week of signing
