Description
Cath Lab Tech - Travel/Contract
Location: Santa Monica, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (4x10 hours), 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Hours per Week: 40
Facility Overview
- Acute Care Hospital, STEMI and Stroke receiving center
- 4 Cath Labs supporting cardiac, electrophysiology (EP), venous thromboembolism (VTE) thrombectomy, interventional neuro, interventional radiology (IR)
- Procedures include TAVR/TMVR, Watchman, Mitraclip, diagnostic and interventional cardiology and neuro
- Charting system: Epic
- Scrub color provided for L&D/OR/Cath Lab staff
- Parking available with fees
Job Details
- On-call required Monday through Friday, plus weekend call (Saturday/Sunday)
- Floating required between specialties within the Cath Lab
- Block scheduling may be accommodated at manager’s discretion
- Facility may call off once per two-week pay period
- Start date: ASAP
- First-time travelers accepted
Required Qualifications
- Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in California
- Minimum 1 year of Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- ARRT certification or RCIS certification
- Fluoroscopy permit
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Social Security Card (as applicable)
- Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must include SSN trace, death master index, sex offender registry, FACIS Level 3, education verification, MVR if applicable
- E-Verify attestation required
- Education verification required (nursing degree or related degree as applicable)
- Employment application covering last 5 years (7 years for APN/Subcontractors) with month/year format for dates
- Minimum 2 professional references covering 1 year employment in comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, confirming ability to work with or without accommodation
- Drug screen (9 panel) within 12 months of start
- Immunizations and health requirements:
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years or declination
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer with acceptable alternatives or declination
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer or declination
- Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season or declination
- COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to masking policies
- Respiratory safety clearance required annually for respirator use (travel only)
- Fit mask testing required onsite unless valid record within 1 year exists; PAPR not accepted in Operating Room
- Annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules required via LMS (Workramp)
- Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background) required
Additional Requirements
- Float policy acknowledgment required (may be required to float to other nearby facilities)
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as applicable
- Color blindness testing may be required on a unit basis
- Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units
- Radiation badge issued by facility if applicable

- Minimum 1 year acute care Cath Lab experience required
- Prior travel experience NOT explicitly required
