Description
Registered Nurse (Med Surg Telemetry) - Travel Position
Location: Farmington, New Mexico
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Backfill position on a Medical Unit with 43 beds in a Level II Trauma Center.
- Provides care for adult patients (18+ years) with diagnoses including cirrhosis, sepsis, pneumonia, respiratory illnesses, wounds, and congestive heart failure (CHF).
- Unit uses Cerner EHR and equipment such as vital signs machines, bladder scanners, IV pumps, thermal imaging, lifts, and tube feeding pumps.
- Night shift: 7 PM – 7 AM, 36 hours per week guaranteed.
- Weekend shifts: Staff are recommended to work at least 2 weekend shifts per month.
- Float requirements as needed by the facility.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico.
- Minimum 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Preferred Qualifications
- Charge nurse experience preferred but not mandatory.
Additional Information
- Patient ratios typically range from 1:5 to 1:6.
- Block scheduling may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- The position serves a diverse patient population in a hospital that includes medical, surgical, rehabilitation, childbirth, cancer, nephrology, pediatric, behavioral health, day surgery, imaging, and lab services.
- The location offers access to outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, and sightseeing in a scenic region with multiple rivers, lakes, golf courses, and national parks.
