Description
Registered Nurse (RN) Flex Pool - Days
Location: Hilo, Hawaii
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Overview
- Float between various medical and surgical units including Medical, Laulima (Surgical Acute), and Cardiovascular Units (rarely).
- Work 12-hour day shifts from 06:45 to 19:15.
- Scheduled for 36 hours per week after the first week of orientation.
- No guaranteed hours.
- Must arrive the Thursday before the start date for an employee health appointment on Friday.
Units and Patient Ratios
- Medical Unit: 77 beds, nurse-to-patient ratio 1:6 (days/evenings), 1:8 (nights)
- Laulima Unit (Surgical Acute): 18 beds, nurse-to-patient ratio 1:6
- Cardiovascular Unit: 15 beds, nurse-to-patient ratio 1:4
- Ratios may vary due to unexpected leaves.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Hawaii
- Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience
- Medical-Surgical nursing experience within the last year
- Stepdown unit experience
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
Skills and Equipment
- Experience with Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, and chest tubes.
- Ability to float between multiple units as needed.
Orientation and Training
- Orientation provided for each unit floated to.
Dress Code
- Professional nursing attire; clean scrubs required.
