Description
MRI/CT/X-ray Technologist (Contract)
Location: Delta, Colorado
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 3 weekend day shifts (12 hours each) per week; occasional day shifts, call, and night shifts per departmental rotation
Hours per Week: 36
Job Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain x-ray, fluoroscopic, C-arm, CT, and MRI equipment ensuring proper functionality, safety, and image quality.
- Perform quality control for x-ray, CT, and MRI areas.
- Administer contrast media as ordered by Radiologist during CT procedures.
- Assist radiologists during interventional CT-guided procedures (biopsies, injections, drainages).
- Interview patients to explain MRI procedures and ensure removal of metal objects hazardous to patient and equipment.
- Monitor staff and patients entering MRI scan room for metal or hazardous items.
- Transport patients according to their physical abilities relative to exams requested.
- Use positioning aides to produce quality patient exams.
- Assist in scheduling staff and patients to maximize efficiency while maintaining patient sensitivity.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of all areas in the department.
- Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and DNV rules and standards.
- Practice sterile technique and Universal Precautions.
- Evaluate exams for technical quality.
- Maintain records, logs, and reports per department policies.
- Clean rooms and restock linen and supplies after each exam.
- Make follow-up calls to patients or physicians as necessary.
- Assist in training Radiology students.
Required Qualifications
- Current ARRT certification.
- Minimum 1 year of CT Technologist experience within the last year.
- Experience as an MRI Technologist.
- Experience as an X-Ray Technician.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
