Operating Room Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job
Location: Santa Rosa, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (5x8 hours), 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Hours per Week: 40
Job Description
- Start date: ASAP
- Primarily 8:30 AM shifts, some variable shifts possible
- Acute Care Facility setting
- Scrub attire or business casual allowed
- Weekend requirement applies
- California state nursing license required (pending license accepted)
- No more than 7 days Return to Office (RTO) restrictions
- Minimum 1 year of Registered Nurse experience required
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in California (pending licenses accepted)
- Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience within the last year
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Licensure & Background Requirements
- California RN license required; pending licenses accepted
- Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start, updated monthly
- Education verification required for nursing degree; international education requires diploma/transcript or CES report
- Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (10-panel for some Per Diem candidates)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- Respiratory safety clearance required annually for travel candidates
- Immunizations and health screenings required:
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years or declination
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer/declination
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer/declination
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season
- COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to masking policies
Documentation & Compliance
- Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years (7 years for APN/Subcontractors) with month/year format for dates
- Skills checklist updated annually as applicable
- Photo for badge with neutral background required
- Completion of annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp)
- Completion of regional core and specialty-specific modules annually as applicable
- WA Multi-State Licensed Nurses Demographic Attestation if working with out-of-state compact license in Washington (not applicable here but noted for reference)
- Float policy acknowledgment may be required; may be asked to float to other nearby facilities

- No prior travel experience required
- No Return to Office restrictions beyond 7 days
