    Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse

    Location: Santa Rosa, California
    Employment Type: Travel/Contract
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Job Description

    • Acute Care Hospital setting with 277 staffed beds
    • Must have experience in trauma, neuro, vascular, and ortho due to trauma status
    • May need to cover one night shift during the contract
    • Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
    • Weekend work required
    • On-call required: call shared equally every 6 weeks, up to 6-8 shifts including nights, evenings, and weekends (8-hour shifts)
    • Floating between like units required
    • Variable start times: 7:00 AM or 9:00 AM
    • Block scheduling possible at manager’s discretion
    • Free parking available

    Required Qualifications

    • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
    • Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
    • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
    • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation
    • Experience in trauma, neurology, vascular surgery, and orthopedics

    Certifications (as applicable)

    • Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification only
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification (verify if required)
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification (verify if required)
    • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - Current certification by AAP, AHA, or Canadian Paediatric Society (verify if required)
    • Other certifications may be required based on unit and clinical track

    Health and Safety Requirements

    • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, confirming ability to work with or without accommodation
    • Fit mask test required annually (onsite completion possible)
    • Immunizations/vaccinations required or declination accepted:
      • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
      • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
      • Hepatitis B (vaccination series or signed declination)
      • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
      • Seasonal Flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted)
      • COVID-19 vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to masking policies
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
    • 9 Panel Drug Screen within 12 months of start (updated as needed)
    • Respiratory safety clearance required annually for respirator use

    Background and Documentation Requirements

    • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
    • Social Security Card (as applicable)
    • Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually
    • Education verification required for nursing degree (international education requires diploma/transcript)
    • Employment application covering at least last 5 years of employment with month/year format
    • Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years
    • Additional state-specific background checks and attestations as applicable

    Additional Information

    • Locals accepted
    • No pending licenses accepted
    • Must include Return to Office (RTO) restrictions at time of submission
    • Float policy acknowledgment required; may be required to float to other nearby facilities
    • Passport-style badge photo with neutral background required
    • Annual completion of regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS required
    • Epic training modules required and must be completed promptly after orientation
