Description
Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery/Postpartum RN
Location: Ithaca, New York
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
Job Summary
- Provide direct patient care within the Maternal Child Health department.
- Collaborate with unit leadership and follow nursing scope of practice guidelines relevant to Maternal Child Health (AWONN, ACOG, NNA, AORN).
- Assess patients and families with needs ranging from uncomplicated to highly complex.
- Use person-centered care to develop and prioritize care plans involving patients and families.
- Demonstrate critical thinking in clinical decision-making and problem-solving.
- Perform technical nursing skills competently and stay current with policies and procedures.
- Act as a resource to peers and facilitate coordination with other disciplines and services.
- Labor and Delivery experience is required; postpartum experience is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New York.
- Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience, with experience within the last year.
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- NRP or STABLE certification.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Preferred Experience
- Postpartum nursing experience is preferred but not mandatory.

- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
- The assignment is a long-term travel assignment lasting approximately 13 weeks.
- Shift is primarily overnight.
