Description
Registered Nurse (RN) - PACU
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36
Unit Information
- Unit: Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
- Number of Beds: 40
- Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 2 patients
- Staffing:
- Hospital Unit Coordinator (HUC) available 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
- 4 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) assigned to specific pods daily, able to draw labs, perform catheterizations, and transport patients
- Equipment: Standard PACU equipment
- Documentation System: Cerner
- Scheduling: 6-week schedules with 3 required call shifts within each 6-week period
- Floating Policy: Float within peri-anesthesia areas including Endoscopy, PreOp, and Phase II
- Dress Code: Surgical green or navy scrubs
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Experience working with pediatric patients
