Description
Registered Nurse (RN) - Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Overview
- Unit: D2, 2nd floor, Mission Main campus
- Beds: 20
- Patient Type: Inpatient overflow unit with mixed level of care (medical-surgical and/or step-down patients)
- Patient Ratios: 1:5 or 1:6 (stretch), depending on level of care
- Short stay patients (<24 hours length of stay) targeted to this unit
- Equipment: Telemetry monitoring (all telemetry patients hardwired to bedside monitors)
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system: Cerner
- Floating: Required to float to other units as needed
- Dress Code: Navy and/or white top, navy bottom, or all white scrubs
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend required; no on-call
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Telemetry nursing experience and competency
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Additional Information
- Shift Hours: Approximately 36 hours per week
- Typical Staff per Shift:
- Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 4 RNs, 2 CNAs
- Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 4 RNs, 2 CNAs
- Typical Procedures: Progressive care and telemetry-related nursing procedures
- No prior travel experience explicitly required for this role
