Description
Operating Room Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract
Location: Weston, Florida
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Day shift: 06:45 AM – 5:15 PM (4x10-hour shifts)
- Liver transplant call required; may assist with other cases if no liver/transplant cases available
- Must have strong experience with liver, heart, lung, and kidney transplants
- Proficiency required in Misonix/CUSA equipment
- Experience required in organ implantation (not just harvesting)
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Florida (pending license accepted)
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of direct liver/transplant OR operating room experience, including experience within the last year
- Strong liver, heart, lung, and kidney transplant experience (reflected on skills checklist)
- Transplant experience
- ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification must be obtained prior to start
Job Requirements & Conditions
- On-call: 1 shift per week plus two 12-hour weekend shifts per month
- Floating within scope of practice to meet facility needs
- Locals accepted at same rate
- Guaranteed hours: 36 hours for 3x12-hour shifts or 40 hours for 8/10-hour shifts
- Must complete time-sensitive online onboarding modules prior to start (cannot be completed on phone; must use Google Chrome)
- Pass/fail testing on EKG and medication administered during orientation (2 attempts allowed per test)
- Must complete required competency exams as applicable
- Smoke-free facility with strict drug and nicotine testing policies

Additional Notes
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront with application; late requests likely denied
- Candidates must be aware of and prioritize completion of onboarding modules promptly once assigned
- Fingerprinting must be completed via Florida AHCA Livescan; clearance can take up to 10 business days
- Candidates with prior background hits may experience longer clearance times and must provide court documentation if requested
- Candidates returning to the facility after a break greater than 6 months may need to re-orient and complete modules again
