Shift Details
- Night shift (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
- 12-hour shifts
- 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend required
Job Summary
- Provide safe, effective, patient- and family-centered care.
- Accountable for care of a group of patients.
- Supervise licensed and non-licensed staff.
- Apply the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care to assess, develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
- Focus on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction.
- Mentor and precept staff.
- Participate in quality, safety, and service improvement efforts.
- Comply with regulatory standards and participate in Practice Governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessments and reassessments; make sound independent decisions.
- Develop, prioritize, implement, and revise care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Monitor and document patient responses to clinical interventions.
- Provide and evaluate education tailored to patient and family needs during stay and at discharge.
- Delegate tasks appropriately and foster teamwork.
- Identify and communicate opportunities for improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Kentucky
- Minimum 2 years of Maternal-Newborn nursing experience
- Maternal-Newborn experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- NRP-Advanced (Neonatal Resuscitation Program - Advanced) certification
- STABLE certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Acute Care nursing experience
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
This position is ideal for experienced acute care RNs with neonatal and mother/baby care expertise seeking a night shift role with mentoring and leadership responsibilities.
