Job Opportunity: RN - Mother/Baby

Shift Details

  • Night shift (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
  • 12-hour shifts
  • 36 hours per week
  • Every other weekend required

Job Summary

  • Provide safe, effective, patient- and family-centered care.
  • Accountable for care of a group of patients.
  • Supervise licensed and non-licensed staff.
  • Apply the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care to assess, develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
  • Focus on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction.
  • Mentor and precept staff.
  • Participate in quality, safety, and service improvement efforts.
  • Comply with regulatory standards and participate in Practice Governance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform patient assessments and reassessments; make sound independent decisions.
  • Develop, prioritize, implement, and revise care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Monitor and document patient responses to clinical interventions.
  • Provide and evaluate education tailored to patient and family needs during stay and at discharge.
  • Delegate tasks appropriately and foster teamwork.
  • Identify and communicate opportunities for improvement.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Kentucky
  • Minimum 2 years of Maternal-Newborn nursing experience
  • Maternal-Newborn experience within the last year
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • NRP-Advanced (Neonatal Resuscitation Program - Advanced) certification
  • STABLE certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Acute Care nursing experience
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system

This position is ideal for experienced acute care RNs with neonatal and mother/baby care expertise seeking a night shift role with mentoring and leadership responsibilities.
