Description
Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery (L&D)
Location: Ottumwa, Iowa
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 7 PM to 7 AM
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
- Weekend Hours: Every other weekend
- Call Requirements: None
- Float Requirements: Must float within hospital to other units as needed
- Patient Ratios:
- Active labor: 1:1
- Couplet care: 3:1
- Equipment Used: Intermediate fetal monitoring, Philips Tracevue
- Electronic Health Record (EHR): Meditech
- Patient Population: Labor & Delivery patients (including couplet care)
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- STABLE certification
Required Licenses
- Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Iowa
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Iowa
- Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- STABLE certification
- AWHONN membership or certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Onboarding Requirements
- Must have Iowa SING background check clearance (including criminal and child abuse portions) — no exceptions
- All background checks (county and state) must be fully cleared prior to start; instant or statewide searches are not accepted
- Mandatory reporter certification for child and adult required
- Drug test: 10-panel screening including opiates
- Immunization titers within the last 12 months for MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, and TB
