    Job Opportunity: Oncology Chemo Certified Registered Nurse

    Location: Orange, California
    Employment Type: Travel/Contract
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Job Overview

    • Work schedule: 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts (Monday to Friday, day shift 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
    • Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 4 patients
    • Float requirement: Must be willing to float between similar units
    • Clinical focus:
      • 70% Oncology-based therapy
      • 30% Blood transfusion, IVIG, hydration, iron therapy
    • Weekend shifts: Not required
    • On-call: Not required
    • Scheduling requests due to additional employment will not be considered
    • Guaranteed hours: Facility may call off once per two-week pay period

    Required Qualifications

    • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
    • Minimum 1 year of recent Hematology/Oncology nursing experience, preferably within the last year
    • Chemotherapy Certification (CHEMO) - mandatory
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation
    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
    • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
    • Experience in an outpatient setting preferred

    • Acute Care Hospital with Magnet recognition
    • Total staffed beds: 426
    • Charting system: Epic
    • Free parking available

    Compliance & Documentation Requirements

    • Background check: Must be completed within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years; annual updates required
    • Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (instant acceptable)
    • Physical exam: Within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, confirming ability to work with or without accommodation
    • Immunizations and health screenings:
      • TDAP vaccine within 10 years (declination accepted)
      • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual updates required)
      • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
      • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
      • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
      • Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted)
      • COVID vaccination record preferred (declinations not required)
    • Respiratory safety clearance: Required annually for travel candidates
    • Photo for badge: Passport-style photo with neutral background required before start
    • Employment application: Must include at least last 5 years of employment with month/year format
    • References: Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years

    Training & Competency

    • Must complete annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp)
    • Medication and pharmacology competency exams as applicable
    • Epic training modules required and must be completed promptly after orientation

    Additional Notes

    • Local radius for assignment is 50 miles
    • Scheduling preferences may be considered but are not guaranteed
    • Time-off requests must be submitted at time of application
    • No pending license acceptance; must have active license before start
    • Float policy acknowledgment required
