Registered Nurse – Emergency Department

Location: Rockport, Maine
Employment Type: Travel
Shift: Nights (7pm to 7am)
Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week, including every other weekend and holiday requirement
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced RN for the Emergency Department and Critical Care unit. This position supports night shift coverage to maintain core staffing. The Emergency Department is a Joint Commission Certified Stroke Center currently undergoing construction, requiring flexibility with workflow changes. The unit includes 20 future state beds, 3 behavioral health locked beds, 2 triage rooms, and medical/psych swing beds.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Maine
• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention)
  • NISHH (Nursing Inpatient Stroke Health Hospital certification or equivalent)

Unit Information

• Patient Ratios: 4:1 to 5:1
• Patient Population: Emergency department patients, including behavioral health and medical/psych patients
• Equipment: Standard emergency care equipment
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): EPIC

Work Environment & Expectations

• Team-oriented unit with emphasis on flexibility, excellent communication, and thorough documentation
• Professional attire required; scrub color may be any solid color
• No call requirements
• No float requirements
