Job Opportunity: Endoscopy Registered Nurse
Location: Elmira, New York
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 06:30 AM – 03:00 PM
Job Summary
The Endoscopy Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care to a designated group of patients, utilizing the nursing process and collaborating with healthcare team members. Responsibilities include patient assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care, adhering to established standards and core nursing values. The role requires accountability, ethical decision-making, and active participation in staff development and quality care initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York
- Minimum 2 years of Endoscopy experience, with Endoscopy experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Preferred Qualifications
- Tdap vaccination within the last 10 years or signed declination form
Key Responsibilities
- Perform ongoing patient assessments focusing on physiological, psychological, and cognitive status
- Analyze assessment data to determine nursing diagnoses and develop individualized care plans
- Implement nursing care skillfully and document accurately and timely
- Evaluate effectiveness of care and adjust plans accordingly
- Maintain safety awareness and respond efficiently in emergency situations
- Participate actively in staff development and maintain knowledge of current nursing research
- Foster effective working relationships with healthcare team members and patients
- Uphold ethical standards and patient rights in all decisions and actions
- Prioritize patient care based on needs and available resources
