Registered Nurse – Medical Unit (Night Shift)
Location: Hilo, Hawaii
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Night shift position on a medical unit with a 13-week contract.
- Scheduled for 36 hours per week following the first full week of orientation.
- Must be flexible to work various shift lengths and days.
- No guarantee of hours or shift preference.
- May float to other units including Laulima Unit and Cardiovascular Unit.
Unit Details
- Medical unit with 77 beds.
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:6 during day and evening shifts, 1:8 at night.
- Equipment used: Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, chest tubes.
- Professional nursing attire required.
- Department-specific orientation and training provided.
- Orientation time provided for each unit.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Hawaii.
- Minimum of 2 years of Med Surg nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year.
- Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing.
- BLS certification.
- ACLS certification.
Additional Information
- Flexibility in scheduling is essential.
- No guarantee of shift preference or hours.
- Orientation includes employee health clearance appointment where flu vaccination can be administered.
