Registered Nurse – Medical Unit (Night Shift)

Location: Hilo, Hawaii
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Night shift position on a medical unit with a 13-week contract.
• Scheduled for 36 hours per week following the first full week of orientation.
• Must be flexible to work various shift lengths and days.
• No guarantee of hours or shift preference.
• May float to other units including Laulima Unit and Cardiovascular Unit.

Unit Details

• Medical unit with 77 beds.
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:6 during day and evening shifts, 1:8 at night.
• Equipment used: Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, chest tubes.
• Professional nursing attire required.
• Department-specific orientation and training provided.
• Orientation time provided for each unit.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Hawaii.
• Minimum of 2 years of Med Surg nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS certification.

• Flexibility in scheduling is essential.
• No guarantee of shift preference or hours.
• Orientation includes employee health clearance appointment where flu vaccination can be administered.
