RN Oncology Infusion Clinic - Adult

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Job Summary

Provide nursing care to adult oncology infusion patients under general supervision. Responsibilities include administering chemotherapy and other medications, monitoring patient physiological data, assisting physicians during procedures, educating patients and families about chemotherapy and clinic procedures, and coordinating follow-up care.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Work Schedule

• Shift varies between 8-12 hours
• Must be willing to work weekends and holidays
• Clinic open 7 days per week
• Approximately 40 hours per week

Required Qualifications

Education

• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program

Licensure & Certifications

• Valid RN license in Oklahoma
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration certification
• Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of oncology nursing experience within the last year

Key Responsibilities

• Administer oral, subcutaneous injections, chemotherapy drugs, and other medications as ordered
• Consult with medical personnel regarding chemotherapy and side effects
• Document patient responses and changes in physician orders
• Assist physicians during conscious sedation and minor diagnostic procedures
• Monitor and intervene based on patients’ physiological data
• Initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products
• Provide patient and family education related to chemotherapy and clinic procedures
• Coordinate patient follow-up activities and referrals
• Delegate tasks to support staff as appropriate
