Description

Registered Nurse - Long Term Care (Travel/Contract)

Location: Seward, Alaska
Contract Length: 13 weeks (Traveler's choice between 13 or 26 weeks)
Shift: 4x12 hour shifts, variable (Traveler chooses between 4 or 3 shifts per week)

  • Shifts are either days or nights, no regular rotation between day/night (occasional exceptions for urgent needs)
    Hours: 48 hours per week guaranteed (60 hours per 2 weeks, with possibility of being called off for one 12-hour shift every 2 weeks)
    Patient Ratio: 1:20
    Facility Type: Long Term Care (LTC) Facility
    Total Beds: 40

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Alaska (must have active license in hand before start; no pending licenses accepted)
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum 1 year of Long Term Care nursing experience within the last year
  • One completed travel nursing assignment
  • BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation
  • Experience in a Long Term Care setting

Work Conditions & Additional Details

  • On-call: Not required
  • Floating: May be required to float within scope to meet facility needs
  • Block Scheduling: Not accommodated
  • Locals: Not accepted; permanent address must be at least 50 miles from facility
  • Time Off (RTO):
    • No more than 2 weeks of RTO considered for 26-week contracts
    • Must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
    • All RTO requests must be submitted with application and prior to offer/contract signing
  • Vehicle: Facility provides a vehicle for use during assignment with restrictions (only traveler may operate, must provide valid driver’s license and insurance, vehicle use limited to 30-mile radius around facility, must be returned clean and with full gas tank)

Documentation & Compliance Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
  • Social Security Card (as applicable)
  • E-Verify attestation
  • Education verification (nursing degree verification required)
  • NURSYS license verification for RNs
  • Background checks including EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG within 30 days of start, updated monthly
  • Annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules required via LMS
  • Badge photo (passport style with neutral background) required for badge issuance
  • WA and OR state-specific background and registry checks (if applicable)
  • Various facility-specific forms including float policy acknowledgment
