Registered Nurse (LTC) - Alaska, Seward
Job Details
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 26 weeks (traveler's choice between 13 or 26 weeks)
- Shift Options:
- 4x12 hour variable shifts
- 3x12 hour variable shifts (traveler's choice)
- Shifts are either days or nights; no rotation between day/night shifts except for urgent staffing needs
- Hours: 36 hours per week (typically 3 shifts of 12 hours)
- Patient Ratio: 1:20
- Facility Type: Long Term Care (LTC)
- Total Staffed Beds: 40
- Charting System: ECS
- Parking: Free
- Vehicle: Facility provides a vehicle for local use (within 30-mile radius), available 72 hours before and 24 hours after contract; traveler must provide valid driver’s license and insurance; vehicle must be returned clean and with a full tank of gas
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Alaska
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 1 year of Long Term Care (LTC) nursing experience within the last year
- Experience in a Long Term Care setting
- One completed travel assignment
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
Work Conditions & Policies
- On-call: Not required
- Floating: May be required to float within scope to meet facility needs
- Block Schedule: Not accommodated
- Locals: Not accepted; permanent address must be at least 50 miles from facility
- Request Time Off (RTO):
- No more than 2 weeks of RTO allowed for 26-week contract
- Must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
- All RTO requests must be submitted with application and prior to offer/contract signing
- Guaranteed Hours: 60 hours per 2 weeks; traveler may be called off for one 12-hour shift per 2 weeks
Orientation & Training
- Alaska Food Worker Certification obtained onsite during orientation
- Annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules required via online LMS
- Badge photo required (passport style with neutral background)
