Description
Job Opportunity: RN Emergency Room
Location: Racine, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
Job Description
- Work every 3rd weekend and every other holiday (EOH)
- Must have at least 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience
- Experience with EPIC electronic health record system required
- Prior travel experience required
- May be required to float onsite within skill set or to other sites within 40 miles
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Wisconsin
- Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year
- Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Onboarding and Competency Requirements
- Completion of specialty exam with minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years
- Completion of core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics, with minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years
- Ascension EKG exam with minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years
- Ascension Epic test-out and training checklist with signed attestation
- Ascension color vision test, updated every 3 years
- Ascension skills checklist for specialty, updated annually
- Completion of onboarding education attestation and contract worker onboarding onsite
- Professional references (minimum two) and criminal background check including social security trace, OIG search, and national sex offender registry
- Employment and education verifications completed within 90 days of start and updated annually or after breaks in service
Additional Notes
- Must provide a professional resume/profile and signed assignment agreement
- May be required to provide a forward-facing badge photo with no alterations
- Optional: Management of Assaultive Behavior (MOAB) certification recommended
- Travel experience is mandatory for this role
This position offers a structured long-term assignment with comprehensive credentialing and competency requirements to ensure high standards of patient care in the Emergency Room setting.
