Description

Job Opportunity: RN Medical/Surgical

Location: Franklin, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM


Job Description

  • Requires NIH certification (mandatory) and ACLS certification (preferred).
  • Must have at least 2 years of experience in Medical/Surgical nursing.
  • Experience with EPIC electronic health record system required.
  • Prior travel nursing experience is required.
  • May be required to float within skill set to other onsite units or to sites within a 40-mile radius.
  • Work schedule includes every other weekend (EOW) and every other holiday (EOH).

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
  • Minimum of 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
  • Prior travel nursing experience.
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system.

Onboarding and Compliance Requirements

  • Submission of professional resume/profile and at least two professional references prior to assignment.
  • Completion of signed assignment agreement and onboarding paperwork onsite.
  • Current and verified licensure and certifications, including:
    • BLS (AHA)
    • NIH certification
    • ACLS (preferred)
  • Completion of specialty competency exams and skills checklists with minimum passing scores (80%) prior to first assignment and updated every 3 years or annually as required.
  • Completion of EPIC test-out and training checklist with signed attestation prior to start.
  • Compliance with health and safety screenings including:
    • 2-step PPD or IGRA testing for tuberculosis with required follow-up documentation.
    • MMR vaccination proof or positive titer (no declinations accepted).
    • Varicella immunity documentation or vaccination (no declinations accepted).
    • Tdap vaccination valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted).
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination.
    • Influenza vaccine recommended during flu season (exemptions accepted with mask requirement).
    • Fit test for respiratory protection (preferred prior to start, can be completed onsite).
    • Annual 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start and updated annually.
  • Submission of a statement of good health or completed physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
  • Criminal background check including Social Security trace, OIG search, national sex offender registry, and EPLS within 90 days prior to start and updated annually or after breaks in service.
  • Verification of education and employment history for the past seven years prior to start and updated annually or after breaks in service.
  • Valid driver's license or state ID matching address requirements.

Additional Notes

  • Must be able to work night shifts and comply with floating requirements as needed.
  • Must maintain all required certifications and complete ongoing competency assessments as specified.
  • Compliance with all onboarding and credentialing requirements is mandatory for assignment clearance.
