Special Procedures Tech - Radiology
Location: Austin, Texas
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, approximately 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Hours per Week: 36
Unit Overview
- Unit: Interventional Radiology
- Location: Lower Level, Acute Building
- Number of Beds: 438
- Staff: 7 full-time Special Procedures / IR Techs, 6 RNs
- Day Shift Staffing: 5 IR Techs, 2 RNs (7 AM–5 PM or 7 AM–3 PM)
- On-Call Night/Weekend Staffing: 2 IR Techs + 1 RN on call
- Equipment: Siemens Bi-Plane x2
- EMR Systems: Meditech (RIS), Fuji PACS
- Facility Type: Comprehensive Stroke Center
- Location Highlights: Downtown Austin
Typical Procedures
- Perm Cath/Dialysis Cath
- Angiogram
- Embolization
- Mechanical Thrombectomy
- Kyphoplasty
Required Qualifications
- Valid Special Procedures Technologist license in Texas
- Minimum 1 year of Special Procedures Technologist experience within the last year
- ARRT Certification
- BLS Certification
- De-escalation skills in a healthcare setting
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Neurovascular Intervention and Stroke Care
- Experience with Siemens Bi-Plane equipment

- Call required as part of the role
- Dress Code: Black scrub pants with sage/olive green top or hospital-issued scrubs
