Registered Nurse (RN) - PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit) - Travel Contract

Location: Austin, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Combination of day shifts (5:30 AM–4:00 PM & 8:30 AM–7:00 PM), 10-hour shifts, 4 days per week
Hours per Week: 36
Call: None
Weekends: None

Unit Overview

• Outpatient Surgery unit with 16 beds
• Staff includes approximately 25 team members
• Patient Ratios:

  • Preop: 2 patients per RN
  • Phase 2 Postop: Up to 3 patients per RN (team nursing approach)
• Typical procedures: wide variety including open heart surgeries, port placements, endoscopy
• EMR system: Meditech
• Equipment: vital signs machines, glucometers
• Team environment with emphasis on flexibility, organization, efficiency, and teamwork
• Dress code: Navy scrubs or Hospital OR scrubs

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
• Minimum 1 year of PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) experience within the last year
• Pre-Op experience
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• ACLS certification
• BLS certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience with Meditech EMR system
