Shift Details

• Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend and as needed by the unit
• On-call: As needed

Job Description

• Telemetry Registered Nurse needed for day shift
• May float to other units within scope of practice, including different campuses
• Floating notice typically given 1.5 hours prior to shift start
• Shuttle provided if floating to other campuses

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 3 years of Telemetry experience, including experience within the last year
• Minimum 6 months of travel nursing experience
• Certifications required:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year background check including SSN trace, county searches, sex offender search, education verification, and FACIS Level 3 screening
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required and updated annually
• Education verification required; BSN preferred but not mandatory
• Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids per California law)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (with accommodations considered for religious exemptions or failed tests)
• Immunizations and health screenings required:

  • Adult TDAP within 10 years
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, renewed annually
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series or declination
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination
  • Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Nov 1 – Apr 30) or signed declination
• Respiratory safety clearance required annually
• Color blindness exam if applicable (in-person only)

Documentation and Orientation

• Must review and sign facility-specific documents including:

  • Job description
  • Standards of business conduct
  • Confidentiality agreements
  • HIPAA agreement
  • Code of conduct and vendor training (updated for 2024 and 2025)
  • TB questionnaire signed by candidate and healthcare provider
• Complete general regulatory orientation and post-test prior to start

Experience and History Verification

• Full 7 years of work history required on application with no gaps
• Employment verification for up to 7 years required; gaps over 30 days must be explained
• Two professional references required (within 3 years) for clinical acute care candidates

This position is ideal for experienced Telemetry RNs with prior travel nursing experience who are flexible with floating and working weekends. Compliance with extensive background checks, certifications, immunizations, and facility-specific documentation is mandatory.
