Description
Registered Nurse (RN) – Long Term Care (LTC)
Location: Beaver Dam, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Facility & Unit Details
- Type: Nursing home attached to hospital
- Beds/Residents: 70 (majority private)
- EMR System: ECS
- Patient Population: Dementia, frail elderly, rehabilitation patients
- Staffing Ratios:
- RNs: 1:20
- LPNs: 1:20
- CNAs: 1:8
- Interdisciplinary Team includes Therapy, Administration, Social Workers, Activities, Dietary, Housekeeping
- Respiratory Therapist on-site 24/7
- Pharmacy on-site with medication dispensing system
- No telemetry monitors on unit; RNs do not read strips
Job Details
- Shift: Nights
- Hours per shift: 12 hours
- Hours per week: 36 hours
- Schedule: Block schedule, 4 nurses and 7 aides during day/pm shifts; 2 nurses and 3-4 aides at night
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirement: Must be available for at least half of the holidays during assignment
- Call/Standby: No on-call required
- Floating: Required
- Dress Code: Any solid color, clean and professional
- Orientation: Varies based on skills
Job Duties
- Charting and assessments
- Charge nurse duties
- Medication administration
- Clinical skills including IVs, catheters, ostomy care
- Experience with elderly patients required
- No requirement to attend team conferences for acute inpatient rehab
Required Qualifications
- Current BLS (AHA) certification
- Experience working with elderly patients in a long-term care setting
- Valid RN license for Wisconsin
Additional Notes
- Clinicians must clock in and out at the facility
- If previously employed by this facility, must have a minimum 6-month gap before reapplying
- Physician available after hours
- Department leadership includes Director of Nursing, Charge Nurse, House Supervisor
