• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
• Approximately 36 hours per week

Job Description

• Telemetry Registered Nurse needed for night shift
• May float to other units within scope of practice, including different campuses
• Floating notice typically given 1.5 hours prior to shift start
• Shuttle provided if floating to other campuses

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
• Minimum 3 years of Telemetry nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Minimum 6 months of travel nursing experience
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Certifications:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI)

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year background check including SSN trace with all aliases, county searches, nationwide sex offender search, education verification, and FACIS Level 3 screening
• Annual updates required for EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and FACIS screenings
• Education verification required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids per California law)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, including clearance for work
• Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (with accommodations considered for religious exemptions or failed tests)
• Immunizations and health screenings required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray (annual renewal)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
  • Hepatitis B immunity or vaccination series (declination allowed)
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination during flu season (Nov-Apr)
• Respiratory safety clearance required annually
• Color vision exam if applicable (in-person only)
• References: 2 professional references within 3 years (Aya requirement, not client)
• Full 7 years of work history required on application with no gaps; employment verification required

Competency Requirements

• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam may be required for some Telemetry units

Additional Notes

• Candidates must be flexible with floating assignments within the hospital system
• Shuttle service available for floating between campuses
• Religious exemptions for immunizations and fit testing may be considered with proper documentation and approval
• All certifications and verifications must be current and verifiable prior to start
