Description

Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room (OR) Travel Position

Location: Springfield, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days, 4x10 hour shifts (36 hours/week)
Call Requirements: Approximately 5 or fewer calls per 8 weeks
Weekend Hours: As required by facility


Job Description

  • Provide direct patient care across all age groups including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize care and comfort.
  • Function within the scope of nursing practice consistent with the Missouri Nurse Practice Act and professional standards.
  • Utilize the nursing process and maintain professional accountability for patient care.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of care provided by other caregivers.
  • Maintain patient rights and confidentiality.
  • Work primarily in a clean, air-conditioned environment; physical demands include standing, walking, lifting/pushing patients (up to 50 lbs), and occasional kneeling or crouching.

  • Number of Beds: Main 22, Ambulatory Surgery Center 8, Orthopedics 10
  • Patient Ratios: 1:1
  • Equipment: Includes DaVinci robotic surgical system
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR): EPIC
  • Patient Types: Outpatient to critical care inpatient

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Missouri
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive Level 1 trauma experience with multiple years preferred
  • Highly motivated self-starter personality

Additional Information

  • Flu vaccination or approved exemption required for all travelers from November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted
  • Night shift orientation occurs on day shift and requires availability for the entire week
  • Dress code includes provided scrub color; unprofessional attire such as jeans is not allowed
  • Float requirements as needed by the facility
