Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Position Details

• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Shift: Night shift, 4x12 hour shifts (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
• Hours per week: 48
• Contract Length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Ohio
• Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
• Current NBRC certification
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association

Job Responsibilities & Work Environment

• Weekend shifts as needed
• May float to other facilities within the system as required
• Unit-specific competency exam required within 12 months of start and must be updated annually
• Must complete facility-specific online training modules prior to start (approximately 4-5 hours, must be completed on a computer using Chrome)
• Badge pickup at facility required prior to start

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Criminal background check required prior to start; must be updated if break in service exceeds 2 months
• FBI and BCI fingerprinting required within 12 months of start; must be completed before onboarding and badge issuance
• I9/E-Verify attestation required
• Pre-employment physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming ability to safely perform job functions
• Fit mask test required within 12 months of start; must be updated annually (specific approved mask models)
• Negative 2-step TB test or equivalent within 6 months of start; annual renewal required
• Immunization or titer documentation required for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (or signed declination)
  • Varicella
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start; annual renewal required
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 31 - Mar 31); no declinations accepted
• Two recent satisfactory pre-employment references required
• Employment application must include 3 years of prior work history, with at least 2 years in acute care and similar specialty area
• Unit-specific skills checklist required and must be updated annually

Additional Notes

• All work history, including any prior positions within the system, must be included in the candidate profile
• Scheduling and return-to-office requests must be communicated during submission and interview
• Candidates working with pediatric patients (RRT-NICU) have additional fingerprinting and certification requirements completed onsite during onboarding

This position is ideal for experienced Respiratory Therapists licensed in Ohio seeking a travel contract with night shifts and a well-defined credentialing and compliance process.
