Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical (Travel/Contract)
Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Work schedule: 3x12-hour rotating shifts (Day: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM; Night: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Patient ratio: 1:5
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend and holidays as needed
- Unit: 21-bed inpatient medical-surgical unit with private rooms
- Patient population: Traumatic and orthopedic injuries, general surgery, plastic surgery (restorative/reconstructive), elective spine surgery; adult and geriatric patients when capacity allows
- Facility type: Level I Trauma Center, Teaching Facility, Magnet Hospital
- Charting system: EPIC
- Scrub color: Solid Royal Blue or White top with Royal Blue bottoms
- Floating: Clinician may float within scope to meet facility needs
- Block scheduling: Possible with manager approval, dependent on unit needs
- Local candidates accepted within 60 miles radius
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina
- Minimum of 1 year of Medical-Surgical nursing experience, with recent experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

- First-time travelers accepted
- Guaranteed hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
- Emergency response team assignment required (hurricane season June-November)
- Parking permit available with a registration fee; additional fees may apply for parking outside designated garage
- COVID-19 vaccines highly preferred but not required; vaccination records must be uploaded or declination form completed
- Facility-specific orientation modules and first day instructions must be completed prior to start
- Prior travel experience is not required
