Respiratory Care Practitioner RRT - Pediatrics

Location

  • Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Work Schedule

  • 12-hour shifts
  • 36 hours per week guaranteed
  • 26-week contracts with guaranteed 48 hours/week (note: contract length is 13 weeks, but shift info references 26-week contracts)

Job Description

  • Provide respiratory therapy services under general supervision for all appropriate pediatric age levels.
  • Administer therapeutic treatments as prescribed by medical staff.
  • Record treatment information and patient responses in electronic medical records.
  • Perform invasive and noninvasive diagnostic testing and patient monitoring.
  • Act as a resource to medical staff.
  • Ensure respiratory equipment is cleaned, maintained, and properly documented.
  • Participate as a member of the quick response team for cardiac and respiratory arrests.
  • Provide age-appropriate care to pediatric patients.

Preferred Experience

  • Two (2) years of respiratory care experience in a critical care setting preferred.
  • Previous work experience in a children’s hospital preferred.
  • No experience required to apply.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Pediatric Respiratory Therapist license in Oklahoma.
  • Minimum of 1 year of Pediatric Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year.
  • Experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.

Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of respiratory therapy procedures, techniques, and equipment operation/repair.
  • Clinical decision-making skills related to pulmonary and cardiac care for pediatric patients.
  • Ability to interpret patient information to identify needs.
  • Ability to work effectively under stress.
  • Good interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
