Intensive Care Unit RN
Location
Louisville, Kentucky
Job Type
Full-time, 13-week contract
Shift
Night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
Role Summary
Provides direct patient care on a cardiovascular unit, including assessments, treatments, admissions, transfers, discharges, patient/family education, and care coordination.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Kentucky
- Cardiac PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
- Cardiac PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
- BLS
- ACLS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- CVU - Cardiovascular Unit experience
Preferred Qualifications
- ADN or ASN
- BSN
- Previous nursing experience
- NIHSS
Key Skills and Responsibilities
- Performs comprehensive patient assessments
- Recognizes and responds to changes in patient condition
- Delegates and oversees patient care tasks
- Coordinates discharge teaching and discharge planning
- Participates in quality improvement activities
- Communicates and collaborates with the care team
- Uses computer systems and applications or can be trained
Unit Details
Cardiovascular intermediate care for cardiac surgery patients, including pre- and post-cardiac intervention care and monitoring for atypical chest pain

- Weekends and holidays per unit needs
