Intensive Care Unit RN

Location

Louisville, Kentucky

Job Type

Full-time, 13-week contract

Shift

Night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM

Role Summary

Provides direct patient care on a cardiovascular unit, including assessments, treatments, admissions, transfers, discharges, patient/family education, and care coordination.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Kentucky
  • Cardiac PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
  • Cardiac PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • CVU - Cardiovascular Unit experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • ADN or ASN
  • BSN
  • Previous nursing experience
  • NIHSS

  • Performs comprehensive patient assessments
  • Recognizes and responds to changes in patient condition
  • Delegates and oversees patient care tasks
  • Coordinates discharge teaching and discharge planning
  • Participates in quality improvement activities
  • Communicates and collaborates with the care team
  • Uses computer systems and applications or can be trained

Unit Details

Cardiovascular intermediate care for cardiac surgery patients, including pre- and post-cardiac intervention care and monitoring for atypical chest pain

  • Weekends and holidays per unit needs
