X-Ray Technologist (Radiology / Cardiology) - Travel/Contract

Location: Columbus, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts (11:30 AM – 10:00 PM) with on-call responsibilities
Work Settings: Outpatient, Inpatient, Operating Room, Level I Trauma, Teaching Hospital


Job Description

  • Provide C-arm and O-arm imaging coverage in the Operating Room environment.
  • Perform X-ray procedures for surgical interventions.
  • Collaborate with surgical and medical teams to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Maintain equipment functionality and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with advancements.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Radiology Technologist license in Ohio.
  • Radiology Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience, including experience within the last year.
  • ARRT certification.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Experience as an X-Ray Technician.

Background and Compliance Requirements

  • 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including FBI and BCI fingerprinting (Ohio-specific code 3701.881). Fingerprinting must be current within 1 year of start; new fingerprinting required if there is a break in service over 90 days.
  • Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG monitoring.
  • Education accreditation verification required immediately after contract signing.
  • High school diploma or GED verification required.
  • Employment application and skills checklist required.
  • Two professional references required; at least one must be from a manager or formal leadership.

Certifications and Competencies

  • BLS certification (AHA Instructor/Provider or RQI accepted).
  • ACLS certification may be required depending on unit assignment (check with recruiter).
  • Unit-specific competency exams required.
  • Annual acknowledgment of orientation safety manual.

Health and Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and freedom from contagious disease.
  • Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSPOT) within 1 year or chest X-ray if positive. TB questionnaire required annually in lieu of TB test.
  • Tdap vaccination (adult dose after age 11/12) required; exemptions not allowed for those working with infants or pregnant patients.
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): 2 vaccines or positive titer required; boosters if low titer.
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required; medical exemptions require documentation.
  • Hepatitis B: Titer or 3-vaccine series; signed declination acceptable.
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); mask required if declining.
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start; new travelers cannot start with pending drug screen.
  • COVID-19 vaccination not required but strongly recommended; proof of primary vaccination collected if available.

Additional Notes

  • Dress code and hand hygiene policy must be reviewed and signed prior to start.
  • Confidential Fraud, Waste, Abuse, and Compliance Reporting training and acknowledgment required.
  • Background check and fingerprinting results must be clear before starting assignment; pending fingerprint attestations accepted under specific conditions.
  • Candidates must be prepared for call duties associated with the position.
