Description
Registered Nurse (RN) - Preop/PACU
Location: Hackensack, New Jersey
Employment Type: Clinical
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday (No weekends or holidays)
Hours: 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
Job Summary
- Evaluate patients and assist physicians with patient care.
- Plan, implement, and document nursing care based on patient needs.
- Identify patient needs and prioritize care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Develop, implement, and coordinate individualized plans of care through initial and ongoing assessments.
- Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and manage patient care.
- Document care according to standards, patient acuity, and clinical priorities.
- Advocate for evidence-based practice and support innovations in care delivery.
- Provide patient-centric care aligned with professional nursing practice models.
- Responsibilities include admission assessment, IV placement, and procedure recovery.
- Work involves Interventional Radiology preop and postop care.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in PreOp / PACU - Post Anesthesia Care, including experience within the last year
- Telemetry experience
- Current certifications: BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS, PALS (American Heart Association)
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience specifically in PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit)
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of PACU experience.
- BSN degree preferred.
Additional Information
- No weekends or holiday shifts.
- Focus on preoperative and postoperative nursing care in a specialized setting.
