Description
Registered Nurse - Psychiatry (Travel)
Location: Ottumwa, Iowa
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Overview
- Position: Registered Nurse (RN) in Behavioral Health (Psychiatry)
- Shift: 7 PM to 7 AM (Night Shift)
- Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 hours guaranteed
- Patient Population: Adults aged 18-65 with conditions such as anxiety, depression, manic disorders, borderline personality disorder, and suicidal ideation
- Unit Size: 14 beds, average daily census around 7
- Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 6 patients
- Electronic Health Record (EHR) system: MediTech
- Float Requirement: May be required to float within a 25-mile radius of the facility
- Call: No call requirements
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa
- Minimum 2 years of psychiatric nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
Onboarding Requirements
- Iowa SING Background Check clearance (including criminal and child abuse checks) with no exceptions
- All background checks (county and state) must be fully cleared prior to start; instant or statewide searches are not accepted
- Mandatory reporter certification for both child and adult required
- Drug test: 10-panel screening including opiates
- Immunization titers within the last 12 months for MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, and TB
- Start days allowed: Monday or Tuesday
