    Registered Nurse - NICU

    Location

    Work Schedule

    • 12-hour shifts
    • Rotating between 1 Day shift and 1 Night shift
    • Approximately 36 hours per week

    Job Description

    • Independently provide nursing care to acutely ill neonatal patients under nurse leader supervision.
    • Perform nursing process including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of therapeutic care.
    • Create a compassionate, patient- and family-centered environment.
    • Collect and document patient data; interpret assessment data to identify physiological and psychosocial risk factors.
    • Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
    • Prioritize nursing actions using clinical judgment and critical thinking.
    • Establish nursing diagnoses and revise care plans as needed.
    • Respond promptly to changes in patient status and activate emergency protocols when necessary.
    • Coordinate care activities with nurses, physicians, and advanced practice providers.
    • Adhere to evidence-based practices, infection control policies, medication administration procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
    • Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and nursing governance activities.
    • Maintain competencies and complete mandatory education as required.
    • Comply with RN scope of practice, ANA Code of Ethics, and nursing standards.

    Required Qualifications

    • Valid RN license in California
    • Minimum 3 years of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience
    • NICU experience within the last year
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
    • Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
    • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
    • Experience with Cerner Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
