Description
Registered Nurse - Med Surg (Travel)
Location: Wichita, Kansas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Information
- Unit Type: Rehabilitation
- Beds: 41
- Nursing Staff: 60+
- Day Shift Staffing: 4 RNs, 5 LPNs
- Night Shift Staffing: 4 RNs, 4 LPNs
- Patient Ratio: 1 RN to 6 patients
- Equipment Used: Patient lifts, iSTAT, glucometer, inhalers/breathing treatments, wound vac dressing changes
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: Meditech
Job Responsibilities
- Assist in rehabilitation care plans established by interdisciplinary team
- Perform lab draws, administer IV antibiotics and other IV medications as needed
- Administer blood transfusions as needed
- Conduct head-to-toe patient assessments
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Kansas
- Minimum 1 year of Med Surg experience within the last year
- Current BLS certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Preferred Qualifications
- CRRN certification
- Knowledge of Quality Indicator scoring in post-acute settings
- Experience with telemetry patients and ability to pass Airstrip telemetry competency
- ACLS certification
